Superman's dead body has been unexpectedly uncovered in the tomb beneath his memorial, leading to the inevitable question: is the Man of Steel who returned during the "Reign of the Supermen" really Superman?

Lois firmly believes that the current Superman is real, but Perry White questions her journalistic integrity. While the world is awaiting word from S.T.A.R. Labs on whether or not the Superman double is real, Alice White looks into adopting young orphan Keith, and Conduit escapes from his cell. Superman learns of Conduit’s escape, and the two fight high above Metropolis. Conduit emerges the victor, as his Kryptonite blasts send Superman crashing through the ground.
